The Global Green Growth Forum (3GF)
Kenya is a member of the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF), which was initiated by the Danish Government in 2011 in collaboration with Korea and Mexico, and has continued to be held every year.
In May 2015, 3GF, UNEP and the Government of Kenya co-hosted an African Regional 3GF Conference in Nairobi. By providing a global – regional platform, 3GF sought to contribute to building consensus on how to turn challenges on sustainable development and climate change into opportunities for green growth and improved livelihoods for all.
The Renewable Energy Development Conference 2015 The Kenya Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Conference & Exhibition is the premier renewable energy development event in the East Africa region. This event is hosted by
Kenya’s leading Business Member Organization, The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM). The two-day conference took an in-depth look at emerging technologies, policy, financing mechanisms, and existing energy infrastructure to provide the audience with the tools needed to accelerate renewable energy development in Kenya. From new business models that encourage small-scale renewable energy deployment to financial mechanisms for utility-scale power plants, this conference addressed current challenges and opportunities from investor, project developer, policymaker, and regulatory perspectives. It also offered a platform to learn from the successes of existing projects to better understand industry hurdles, and gain key insights from financial institutions to minimize risk and increase the viability of renewable energy projects.
